This study systematically analyzes the survival and development status of online ride-hailing drivers aged under 45 years in Guangzhou using questionnaires, focus group discussions, and case interviews. The results show that current young online ride-hailing drivers in Guangzhou are predominantly male, with a clear differentiation between full-time and part-time drivers, and the average age is decreasing. Full-time drivers face problems such as high labor intensity,income-effort imbalance and prominent psychological stress, while part-time drivers are characterized by flexible work but limited income. The group reports high satisfaction with the autonomy of working hours, but low ratings for social recognition and career development space. The study finds that the current industry development faces structural contradictions including lagging macro regulations technological changes and intensified homogeneous competition among platforms. Full-time drivers have practical difficulties in rest rights, social security, and vocational training. Based on this, the study puts forward countermeasures and suggestions from the dimensions of strengthening the top-level design of local governance, standardizing market order, strengthening rights and interests protection, and addressing mental health,to provide decision-making references for optimizing the professional environment of online ride-hailing drivers and promoting the healthy development of new business forms.
