This report systematically examines the concept of love and marriage among older unmarried youth from four dimensions：love outlook，mate selection view，marriage view，and fertility view. The study finds that the love motivations of the interviewed older unmarried youth are diverse，with marriage orientation and emotional needs being predominant；they exhibit both acceptance and conservatism towards new love styles such as “buddy love” and “virtual love”. “Consistency in three views” is the primary consideration for older unmarried youth in Guangzhou when choosing a mate，and the importance of “matching families” remains significant. Economic pressure is the primary reason for youth’s “marriage phobia”，and social media influence and negative examples from peers are also contributing factors；“preferring singlehood” is the main reason for unmarried people to choose not to marry. In terms of fertility concepts，the childbearing willingness is declining，and “heavy parenting burden” is the main reason for their reluctance to have children；the purposes of childbearing are mainly “the crystallization of love” and “experiencing the role of parents”，highlighting the emotional value and self-realization of childbearing. Based on this，the report proposes recommendations from the aspects of strengthening traditional cultural guidance，creating marriage and childbearing friendly environments，and improving the level of love and marriage services.
