According to GaWC’s 2024 research findings，Guangzhou has firmly established itself as an Alpha-level global first-tier city，ranking 22nd worldwide. This achievement highlights the city’s rapidly developing comprehensive strength and continuously improving global connectivity，signifying its increasingly important role in global trade，investment，and cultural exchanges，with growing influence as a world city. Looking ahead，for Guangzhou to further enhance its centrality in the world city network and progress toward becoming a central world city with classical charm and contemporary vitality，it must focus on developing：an extensive global transportation and communications network with both domestic and international connections；a robust global trade and investment network led by multinational corporations；a comprehensive global financial and professional services support network；strong professional talent cultivation capabilities and international talent attractiveness；and advanced global engagement networks and international reputation dissemination capacity. Building upon its foundation as an important global business hub，Guangzhou should cultivate an open，friendly，and interconnected international metropolis image.
