The construction of Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area（GBA）is a major national strategy personally devised，planned，and driven by President Xi Jinping. It shoulders the important mission of high-level opening up and high-quality development，and is also a strategic fulcrum in shaping a new development pattern. The Outline Development Plan for the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area（Plan）is the overall blueprint for the construction of the GBA，proposing major long-term plans to deepen innovation cooperation between Guangdong，Hong Kong and Macao，build an open and integrated regional collaborative innovation community，and create high-level scientific and technological innovation carriers and platforms. The year 2024 marks the fifth anniversary of the promulgation and implementation of the Plan. With the overall planning and full support of the central government，Guangdong，Hong Kong and Macao have enhanced collaboration，mutual understanding，and cooperation over the past five years，turning the mere concept of the GBA into the surging trends of robust development. This fully demonstrates that the Plan is advanced in concepts and scientifically-designed. Under the guidance of the Plan，the GBA has ramped up efforts in infrastructure connectivity，soft connectivity and people-to-people exchanges，making it a world-class science and technology，finance，and culture bay area famous around the globe. With significant improvement in its international competitiveness and global visibility，the GBA has also become a important window to showcase the achievements of the Chinese path to modernization.
