The global economy continued to recover slowly in 2023 Multiple elements are weighing on the global economy，bringing mounting pressures for global cities but also new opportunities under new circumstances of globalization. GaWC’s World Cities Classification，Kearny’s Global Cities Index，Mori Memorial Foundation’s Global Power City Index，Global Financial Center Index，and WIPO’s Top 100 S&T Clusters have successively updated their rankings，reflecting the recovery of global cities with basic data and indicating various profound changes shaping the international landscape. The global economic recovery remains slow and uneven，with emerging markets and developing economies performing better than expected，among which China has demonstrated outstanding resilience and development potential in its urban economies.
