The development of China-Africa cooperation in Chinese medicine is divided into three stages-early contact and exploration stage，preliminary establishment of cooperation framework stage，and rapid development and deepening cooperation stage. With the support of policies，Chinese medicine service organizations in Africa have been gradually established，and acupuncture-moxibustion and other therapies have been effective in the prevention and treatment of infectious diseases and chronic diseases；the cooperation in education and scientific research includes diversified modes such as academic education，short-term training，apprenticeship and long-distance training，etc.，and the co-construction of scientific research platforms has been accelerated；the investment of Chinese enterprises in the cultivation and processing of Chinese medicines in Africa has increased，and the volume of China-Africa trade in Chinese medicines has risen year by year. At the same time，China-Africa cooperation in Chinese medicine has inadequate protection of intellectual property rights and imperfect infrastructure；imperfect market mechanism and unprotected service quality；shortage of professionals and limited scientific research cooperation；and challenges to sustainable development. In this regard，it is recommended to improve policy coordination and legal protection；build a local talent training system and deepen joint scientific research；deepen industrial cooperation and promote industrialization；strengthen cultural exchanges and promote social recognition.
