This report focuses on the economic and trade cooperation between China and the Republic of Mali, providing a systematic analysis of Mali’s economic overview based on multi-source data from institutions such as the World Bank and the International Monetary Fund, and incorporating case studies. The report reveals that Mali’s economy is heavily reliant on agriculture and mining, with weak infrastructure and multiple issues in security, economy, and environment. The report finds that since the establishment of diplomatic relations,Sino-Malian economic and trade cooperation has continuously deepened, achieving significant results in trade, investment, and other areas. However,in Mali, social inequalities requiring continuous improvement, inadequate infrastructure and supporting policies, insufficient environmental protection and resource management mechanisms, heavy dependence on commodity price fluctuations, outdated agricultural technology and lack of innovation, inflation and currency depreciation, and limited financing channels and project implementation obstacles have severely constrained the potential for further cooperation. The report recommends that both sides should strengthen bilateral cooperation mechanisms and legal frameworks, promote green transformation of infrastructure, advance agricultural modernization and enhance food security, expand multi-sectoral economic collaboration and reduce barriers to capital access, achieve sustainable development and mutual benefits, thereby offering a new paradigm for deepening China-Africa cooperation.
