2014年成立的澳大利亚-印尼中心，在成立之初就关注到澳大利亚与印尼传统公共外交领域的薄弱环节。之所以出现这种情况，是因为澳大利亚的公共外交建设不足，但这也与印尼公共卫生建设存在的问题有关。在此基础上，中心主要在印尼开展大规模的公共卫生活动，发起科研项目、撰写科研报告、启动实地调研等项目。同时，中心发起的活动具有双向性，这与过往的非政府组织活动存在不同。从公共卫生活动来看，中心具有活动双向性、资金双向性以及人员组成双向性，在澳大利亚与印尼的公共外交中发挥纽带作用。尽管中心的活动有其局限性，但其在印尼发起的公共卫生活动背后的公共外交价值不应该被忽视。
The Australia-Indonesia Centre，established in 2014，was founded with a focus on weaknesses in the area of traditional public diplomacy between Australia and Indonesia. This was due to Australia’s shortcomings in building public diplomacy，and was also related to problems in building public health in Indonesia. On this basis，the Centre has launched large-scale public health activities mainly in Indonesia，initiating research projects，writing scientific reports，and launching field research and other projects. At the same time，the activities initiated by the Centre are two-way，which is different from the activities of NGOs in the past. In terms of public health activities，the Centre has a two-way activity，a two-way funding and a two-way composition，and it plays a linking role in public diplomacy between Australia and Indonesia. While the Centre’s activities are particularly limited，the public diplomacy value behind the public health activities it has initiated in Indonesia should not be overlooked.
