Although China-India relations have recovered by some means in various fields in 2023,they still face many problems. For bilateral political relations,high-level interactions have increased, and the leaders of the two countries have achieved face-to-face talks under multilateral framework. However,India’s tendency to define bilateral relations only by border issues has increased, and it has taken measures on the Taiwan question and South China Sea issues. For economic relations, the total trade volume between the two countries has increased and consensus has been reached on major issues of the international economic and financial order under multilateral frameworks such as the Shanghai Cooperation Organization and the BRICS. However,India’s trade measures against China have increased. Bilateral economic dialogues are still at a standstill, and the measures against Chinese enterprises in India have also escalated. For security relations, meetings at all levels that help stabilize the border situation have continued, and the two countries have also made progress on major international security issues under multilateral framework. But the military standoff between the two militaries has been continuing, and India’s military preparations and security anxiety against China on land and at sea(Indian Ocean)have not been alleviated too. In the future, the two countries should consolidate achievements on border issues, avoid recurrence of the confrontation on the ground, and further strengthen cooperations under multilateral framework.
