The international communication of the “Chinese path to modernization，” one of the important concepts in the discourse system with Chinese characteristics in the new era，has received widespread attention from scholars at home and abroad. By assessing the acceptance of the “Chinese path to modernization” narrative in Russian academia，this paper explores its potential for dissemination in developing countries in an effort to provide strategic reference for enhancing the global influence of discourse system with Chinese characteristics. Through literature research，this paper reveals the complicated attitude of Russian academia towards the narrative of the Chinese path to modernization. The research shows that the Russian academia has in-depth and careful thinking on the applicability，civilization value and inherent political implications of the “Chinese path to modernization，” despite its basic recognition of the three narrative lines of “global perspective and human observation，”“civilization continuity and tradition inheritance，” and “inclusiveness and national characteristics.” This paper thus proposes a multi-dimensional international communicative strategy to help the international community better understand China’s development path and facilitate the building of a positive image of the “Chinese path to modernization” in the global discourse system.
