The Beijing Central Axis is the soul and backbone of the historic core of this ancient city，representing the most complete traditional city axis in China and even the world. The Regulations on the Conservation of Beijing Central Axis Cultural Heritage mandate the establishment of systems for its resource surveys，protection monitoring，and emergency management.

The report reviews and summarizes the main strategies and methods outlined in the Beijing Central Axis World Cultural Heritage Monitoring and Protection Platform Construction Plan，a document designed to guide the in-depth development of conservation and monitoring efforts for the Central Axis. Furthermore，the report explores the inspection of heritage property conditions，damage assessment，and protection management evaluation. Based on these efforts，it develops specific monitoring requirements，clarifies system requirements，and implements a technical approach for the monitoring plan in alignment with the design content. In addition，the report outlines a technical system for the informatization of heritage monitoring based on cultural property conservation requirements. This system scientifically assesses the degree and causes of damages and deterioration，systematically categorizes and implements monitoring measures，and emphasizes the importance of “speaking the language of heritage properties and drawing the picture of heritage properties.” By integrating the monitoring plan design into the heritage property conservation system，this approach enhances the implementation of the principles and requirements set forth in the China World Cultural Heritage Monitoring and Checking Principles and the China World Cultural Heritage Monitoring Work Guidelines. It aims to explore a “Central Axis Approach” for the monitoring of World Cultural Heritage properties in China.
