As global sustainable development goals shift from shared aspirations to collective action, sustainable infrastructure has emerged as a crucial lever for Africa to pursue economic growth while ensuring social stability. In recent years, sustainable infrastructure development in Africa has made significant strides in areas such as climate adaptation, clean energy, digital communication, and urban services, demonstrating characteristics of diversified participation, digitalization of project technologies, and integration of facility systems. However, challenges such as the lack of development consensus, insufficient governance capacity, constraints imposed by land systems, and difficulties in project financing hinder the deepening advancement of sustainable infrastructure development in Africa. In the future,Africa needs to progress towards sustainable,people-centered,and high-quality infrastructure development by establishing indigenous concepts, implementing diverse combinations, executing digital transformation, and expanding financing channels.
