Since the outbreak of the Russia-Ukraine conflict in February 2022,Russia and the West have entered a comprehensive confrontation. Therefore,Russia has been forced to pursue a foreign policy of counterbalancing the West and uniting with the East. In March 2023,the Putin government released a new version of “Foreign Policy Concept”,which officially confirmed the above policy. In 2023,Russia and the West fell into deeper confrontation on various issues including Ukraine, politics, economy, military and diplomacy. Russia’s relations with Eastern countries have generally developed,in which its cooperation with China and India has achieved the most outstanding results in multiple fields. But its relations with countries in the post-Soviet space became complicated or alienated. Since the conflict between Russia and Ukraine and the confrontation between Russia and the West have become protracted,Russia will continue to pursue the policy of counterbalancing the West and uniting with the East in 2024.
