In recent years，ESG concept has profoundly changed development environment of the oil and gas industry. Firstly，the ESG investment market continues to grow in size，and sustainable development projects are more favored. Secondly，ESG environment climate change has become the focus，and there is an urgent need for strategic adjustment and transformation. Thirdly，ESG regulatory policies continue to be introduced in an orderly manner，and disclosure and evaluation standards tend to be unified. Fourthly，ESG promotes the deepening development of green finance，and further expands financing channels for low-carbon transformation. ESG practice of oil and gas industry is being deepened continuously for facing challenges and opportunities. Oil and gas industry is racing to promote energy transition，undertake social responsibility，improve corporate governance and follow ESG information disclosure standards. Looking forward，China’s oil and gas industry should take the initiative to embrace the concept of ESG，innovate ESG practice and improve ESG performance，so as to establish the image of ESG leader.
