This article comprehensively and systematically elaborates on the situation and challenges faced in the development of ESG investment in China，including the current status，effectiveness，latest trends，existing problems，and future prospects of the ESG investment field，providing reference for practitioners and researchers in the ESG investment field. The article summarizes the current situation of ESG investment in China and finds that the scale of ESG investment in China continues to grow，various institutions actively participate，and product types continue to enrich，indicating that ESG concepts are gradually being widely recognized by the market. At the same time，the ESG information disclosure mechanism is becoming increasingly popular，and the policy standard system has been preliminarily established，which also provides strong support for ESG investment. This article also found that ESG investment can help control investment risks，promote high-quality development of enterprises，and assist in achieving the “dual carbon” goals. Enterprises with good ESG performance often have stronger financial stability and sustainable development capabilities，bringing sustainable returns to investors. In addition，ESG investment also promotes the development of green industries，bringing positive social impact and brand effects. Domestic ESG investment has the trend of continuously increasing investment scale，continuous innovation of investment tools，formation of mainstream investment strategies，initial establishment of ecology，and further improvement of information disclosure quality and efficiency，revealing the future direction of ESG development.
