At present, the scope of China’s investment in “Belt and Road” co-construction countries is expanding and the amount of investment continues to increase. However, the investment security is still affected by various factors, including economic, financial, political, social and security of relations with China. Based on relevant theoretical basis and practical experience, this study collected relevant data from 2010 to 2020 and constructed an investment safety evaluation model containing 5 first-level indicators and 39 second-level indicators. The “investment safety Index” was used as a comprehensive reference to measure the safety of Chinese enterprises’ investment in countries along the “Belt and Road”. In general, there are differences in the investment security index of countries along the “Belt and Road”,Luxembourg,Singapore and Malta rounded out the top three, with Syria,Venezuela and Libya ranked lowest. Central and Eastern Europe and other European countries had the highest overall levels, while sub-Saharan Africa and North Africa had the lowest overall levels. In the future,we can adjust the amount and focus of investment according to the investment security level of different regions to better promote the investment development process of the “Belt and Road”.
