With the increasingly serious global environmental problems and the growing voice of sustainable development，the green and low-carbon transformation of traditional industries has become particularly important. The environmental challenges and pressures that the automotive industry is facing includes increased carbon emissions，increased resource consumption，air pollution and other issues. These factors have made it imperative for the automobile industry to transition to green and low-carbon development. This paper reflects the current situation of China’s new energy automobile industry by introducing the development status of China’s new energy automobile industry and the upgrading path of energy saving and carbon reduction capability. However，the automobile industry has broken through the shell of traditional car companies，and in the process of developing the new energy automobile industry. There are still many problems to be solved from the perspective of the government and industry. In order to promote the better development of the new energy automobile industry and help the carbon of the automobile industry reach the peak of carbon neutrality，the government，industry and enterprises themselves should take corresponding measures.
