After the French presidential election in 2022，Mélenchon，the leader of “La France insoumise”，reorganized the coalition of left-wing parties to form the “New Ecological and Social Popular Alliance”. However，the war between Hamas and Israel in 2023 quickly disintegrated this newly formed left-wing alliance. The reason is that the political stance gap between the left-wing parties is too large，there is no common political program，and Mélenchon’s behavior is too personal. These are all reasons for the failure of this alliance. The last straw for this alliance was，of course，the widely differing positions of the left-wing parties on the conflict between Hamas and Israel.
