the report to the 20th National Congress of the Communist Party of China clarifies that the direction for the high-quality development of the manufacturing industry is “high-end，intelligent，and green”. Industrial robots are the core equipment for intelligent manufacturing and a key driver for the intelligent production of the manufacturing industry. Beijing has already released a series of policies and measures to promote the development of industrial robots and accelerate the process of intelligent production. The research results of this report indicate the following：Firstly，the number of registered industrial robot enterprises in Beijing is growing rapidly，with a low proportion of technology innovation enterprises and a high proportion of private enterprises in the ownership structure. Secondly，the output of industrial robots continues to expand in Beijing，with a large trade deficit. The ordinary trade regime domains Beijing’s industrial robot exports and imports，and the main product type is handling robots. Those industrial robots are mainly imported from developed economies and exported to developing economies. Looking into the future，it is suggested that the relevant authorities in Beijing put more efforts in providing support for technology innovations，promoting international technology communications，regulating the industry market order，and optimizing the export structure and quality，therefore effectively supporting the construction of Beijing as an international science and technology innovation center and a benchmark city for the global digital economy.
