In the communique of the 5th plenary session of the 19th Central Committee of the Communist Party of China （CPC），fully implementing the strategy of rural revitalization has been put forward，strengthening the industrial support for agriculture and the urban support for rural areas. The country will develop a new industrial-agricultural and urban-rural relationship，which promotes positive interaction between industry and agriculture and mutual benefits between urban and rural area，achieving coordinated development and common prosperity. This paper focuses on the current situation，achievements and shortcomings of integrated urban-rural development in Zhongshan in the context of the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area. The traditional advantages and challenges of integrated urban-rural development are summarised and analysed，while the pathway of high-quality development of the urban-rural integration in Zhongshan is put forward.
