The report of the 20th National Congress of the Communist Party of China made significant arrangements for the digitalization and intelligent development of the manufacturing industry. As the core region of national manufacturing development，the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area has witnessed rapid development of digital technologies such as 5G，big data，cloud computing，artificial intelligence，and blockchain in recent years，which have deeply integrated with the manufacturing industry，providing strong impetus for the digital and intelligent transformation of manufacturing. This paper sorts out the connotation and mechanism of the digital and intelligent transformation of the manufacturing industry，analyzes the current situation and existing problems of the digital and intelligent transformation of the manufacturing industry in Zhongshan City，and puts forward countermeasure suggestions for Zhongshan City to accelerate the digital and intelligent transformation of the manufacturing industry in the context of the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area.
