Since the launch of the construction of the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area，the Greater Bay Area has played a leading role in key cities，reformed service supply methods，strengthened information technology，built exchange platforms，carried out specific assistance and attempted to extend the in-depth cooperation in social assistance among the nine cities to synergize cross-border social assistance among Guangdong，Hong Kong and Macao. However，such efforts to coordinate regional policies have been affected by factors such as wide differences in social assistance systems between cities，low levels of welfare portability，different financial burdens，barriers to information sharing and constraints on the development of social organizations. Therefore，a cooperation platform should be established to promote welfare portability，explore information sharing，optimize the financial burden mechanism and actively play the role of social organizations，so as to realize the regional coordination of social assistance policies in the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area.
