In 2022，the relationship between Central Asian and Russian countries has experienced twists and turns，divided into three stages based on three important events：the outbreak of the January riots in Kazakhstan，the escalation of the Ukraine crisis，and the convening of the first Russia-Central Asia Summit. Since independence，Central Asian countries have firmly pursued the path of “De-Russification” and regarded Russia as the most crucial part in their foreign policy. These two policies may seem contradictory，but in reality they are unified. Because the former is dominated by world development trends，while the latter is the result of the influence of its own variables. The evolution of the relationship between Central Asia and Russia in 2022 better illustrates this dialectical relationship.
