2022 is a year witnessing requent geopolitical events in Central Asia. In January，Kazakhstan experienced January bloodshed，riots occurred in the Gorno-Badakhshan Autonomous Region of Tajikistan in May，border conflicts broke out between Tajikistan and Kyrgyzstan in June，and protests occurred in Karakalpakstan，Uzbekistan in July. Frequent regional conflicts have caused domestic political turmoil in relevant countries and also posed a threat to the stability and security of Central Asia. In February 2022，Russia launched a “special military operation” against Ukraine. The outbreak of the Ukraine crisis and its spillover effects have had a series of impacts on the economy，diplomacy，society，and many other aspects of Central Asian countries，including the interaction between Central Asia and the European Union.
