The Bai-teng（Bach Dang）Battle in 1288 is not a key battle of the second Yuan-Annam war. Before the Bai-teng Battle，the Yuan army is already defeated by the Annamites. The main reason of the Yuan navy’s disastrous defeat is the absent of cooperation between the Yuan infantry and the navy. Zhang Wenhu，the commander of Yuan grain fleet，does not join the Bai-teng Battle. Thousands of Yuan prisoners of war are repatriated by Annam government，but the important Yuan generals，including Omar and Fan Ji，are assassinated in Annam.
