针对“格物致知”之说,长久以来聚讼不已,其成为思想家关注的焦点话题本身即与以《大学》为首的“四书”之升格密不可分,故历来学者多有述之。然17世纪以降,在东亚范围内出现了一股“返礼学”的思潮,其表征虽往往以反对朱子之改经呈现,然这股思潮的最终归宿却指向了复兴古典礼学,对此思潮学界尚乏深入研究。故本文以“格物致知”论为切入口,通过分析陈乾初、尹白湖、伊藤仁斋对朱注以至《大学》的批判,从而在凸显“四书学”解构过程的同时,勾勒出“返礼学”思潮的大体样态。深入解析“返礼学”思潮的动向,不仅可以启发我们重新思考宋学与朴学之间发展的内在理路,更为反思朝鲜儒学史上的“脱性理学”以及江户儒学史上的“古学”提供了新的理解路径。

Abstract

For a long time,the argument of “investigation of things”(格物)has been litigated. The fact that it has become the focus topic of scholars is inseparable from the upgrading of the “Four Books”(四书)led by the Great Learning(大学),therefore,scholars have been discussing it a lot. Since the 17th century,however,there has been a trend of “returning rites”(返礼学)thought in East Asia,which is often represented by opposition to Zhu Xi(朱熹)’s modification of Classics,and the ultimate destination of this trend points to the revival of the classical rites. But there is still a lack of in-depth research on this trend of thought,so this paper takes the theory of “extension of knowledge”(格物致知)as the entry point,through the analysis of Chen Qianchu(陈乾初),Yun Baekho(윤백호)and Ito Jinsai(伊藤仁斋)’s criticism of Zhu Xi’ annotations and even the Great Learning,so as to highlight the deconstruction process of the “Four Books” and also outline the general state of the trend of “returning rites” thought. An in-depth analysis of the trend of “returning rites” thought can not only inspire us to rethink the internal logic of the development form Neo-Confucianism to Evidential Scholarship(朴学),but also provides a new way to reflect on the “de-Neo-Confucianism” in the history of Confucianism in Joseon Dynasty and the “Ancient School” in the history of Confucianism in Edo period.
