In the context of the ever-changing global communication ecology，the regulation of international social platforms （SPs） has always been a process of complex flux and dynamic adjustment. Based on the logic of platforms and the logic of regulation，this study depicts and explores the latest development pattern and the evolution process of international SP regulation. International SPs increasingly value self-regulation and the development of platform protocols，thanks to the interplay between technology，economics and politics. This report shows that，over recent years，international SPs have converged in four respects，i.e.，regulatory structure，legal regulations，regulatory path，and regulatory philosophy. This study proposes to institute more effective regulation of international SPs on four fronts：“return of state intervention，”“platform self-regulation，”“civic engagement”，and “common regulations.”
