2019年吉林省政府发布了“一主六双”产业空间布局规划，其中明确要建设以“一主”即长春市为主要发展城市，辐射带动吉林、四平、辽源、松原的“长春经济圈”，2021年吉林省委省政府审议通过《中共吉林省委关于全面实施“一主六双”高质量发展战略的决定》，正式将“一主六双”产业空间布局规划提升到高质量发展战略层面，身担“一主”重任的长春市将充分发挥其首位城市的辐射带动作用，通过将区域内的特色产业有效整合科学规划，从而带动其他地区的高质量发展。
