Mazu culture is not only a characteristic of Chinese traditional culture，but also a culture combined with marine culture and marine civilization. This paper summarizes the inheritance and development of Mazu culture in 2018，including sacrifice ceremony and pilgrimage，temples’ construction，folk culture，academic research，literary creation and charities，which presents the characteristics of Mazu culture in many fields，omnibearing and cross-level. This paper points out the close relationship between Mazu culture and Chinese marine culture. In the study，it found that little attention has been paid on the localization research in the process of Mazu cultural diffusion，and there is a lack of systematic theoretical construction of the subject. The phenomenon and interpretation of Mazu culture have not yet been embedded in the social background of the development of Chinese marine culture. In view of the above points，the report puts forward the countermeasures and suggestions of expanding the modern communication network of Mazu culture，perfecting the subject system，theoretical construction and establishing the world Mazu cultural exchange center.
