故宫博物院每年按照国家要求上报北京故宫年度监测报告。2021年，按照《故宫保护总体规划（2013—2025）》的要求开展遗产保护、管理、研究与利用工作，新成立了故宫世界遗产监测部，专职负责故宫世界遗产的监测工作。2021年，依托国家重点研发计划“不可移动文物本体劣化风险监测分析技术和装备研发”项目开展了一系列有关遗产本体和影响因素的监测工作，各项计划顺利完成，相关风险控制正常。
The Palace Museum submits the monitoring report on the Imperial Palace of the Ming and Qing Dynasties in Beijing annually pursuant to the state’s requirement. In 2021，conservation，management，research and use of the heritage property were carried out in line with the Master Conservation Plan of the Imperial Palace of the Ming and Qing Dynasties in Beijing （2013-2025）. The Palace Museum set up the World Heritage Monitoring Department to be responsible for the monitoring of the Imperial Palace of the Ming and Qing Dynasties in Beijing as a World Heritage property. In 2021，a series of monitoring activities involving the property fabrics and impact factors were conducted，based on the national key R&D project “Development of Analysis Technologies and Equipment for the Monitoring of Degradation Risks in the Immoveable Heritage”. All the activities have been completed as scheduled and relevant risks brought under control.
