In 2022，China’s World Cultural Heritage continued to be negatively affected by natural and human factors，but these factors were basically controllable. As for natural factors，natural erosion of heritage sites increased. Meteorological and hydrological disasters，especially typhoons and storms，dominated the natural disasters，but they were concentrated between June and September. As for human factors，the pressure of tourism decreased due to the impact of Covid-19 throughout the year，which reduced the number of tourists and the tourism-related economic income of heritage sites，but with the end of the pandemic and the gradual recovery of production and livelihood at the end of 2022，the tourist numbers and tourism cultures of heritage sites experienced great changes，bringing new opportunities and challenges. However，heritage sites remained under pressures from mining，pollution，population growth and increased construction. The majority of construction projects were related to housing，environmental upgrades，and transportation infrastructure，with an annual increase of over 50%. Considering the above，heritage administrative units are suggested to carry out disaster risk investigation and governance as soon as possible，improve disaster monitoring，early warning and forecasting，and preventive heritage protection；pay attention to legislation and regulations establishment，strengthen heritage protection，standardize and guide heritage tourism and construction activities，and take the initiative to improve the industry’s public service and management capacity，foster the vitality of the heritage industry，and promote the coordinated development of heritage protection and economic and social development.
