As one of the world’s most competitive cities in the digital economy，New York City has a top technology ecosystem，actively develops and continuously upgrades digital infrastructure，continuously strengthens the integration of digital technology and traditional advantageous industries such as the financial industry，and vigorously promotes the development of digital economy industries such as the information industry and scientific and creative enterprises. This article introduces the development of New York’s digital economy from the aspects of digital infrastructure development，information industry，ICT manufacturing industry，ICT convergence industry and unicorn，and analyzes the overall competitiveness of New York’s digital economy from three aspects：digital foundation and governance competitiveness，digital talent competitiveness and digital innovation competitiveness. Then，this article summarizes several initiatives that the city has taken to support the development of the digital economy，including providing more advanced digital services，promoting the development of a digital technology workforce，continuing to strengthen the city’s cybersecurity capabilities，etc. Finally，this paper summarizes five trends in the future development of the city’s digital economy based on relevant strategic planning and research reports.
