African countries generally confront the problems of domestic ethnic opposition and weak national identity，and literary works are important vehicles for recording and conveying the sentiments of different ethnic groups. This article takes the literary works in English by writers from Ndebele and Shona，the two main ethnic groups in Zimbabwe since the beginning of the 21st century as the research objects. In terms of their selection of subject matters，thematic preference，narrative tone and aesthetic taste，the article analyzes and compares the differences in national identity between the two ethnic groups of writers，as well as the focus and expression of ethnic opposition between them.
