In November 2022，France released the 2022 edition of its National Strategic Review，which aims to provide a strategic framework for the legislation of the 2024-2030 Military Program Law. This article will first analyse the main content of the report in terms of both：France’s assessment of the strategic environment and its options to deal with challenges. It will then focus on 5 topics，namely France’s nuclear deterrence，“high-intensity war”，Africa strategy，European strategic autonomy and how to expand France’s influence.
