2022年5月，美国总统拜登正式提出“印太经济框架”（IPEF）。拜登总统提出该倡议，目的是通过对世界经济与贸易关键和新兴领域的规则塑造，巩固美国在世界经济中的“领导地位”，强化美国与印太国家的经济联系，应对当前及未来可能面临的经贸领域的问题与挑战，为美国工人和企业创造所谓公平竞争的国际环境，从根本上维护和实现美国在该地区的经济利益，促进美国国内就业和经济发展。“印太经济框架”包含贸易、供应链、清洁经济和公平经济四个支柱领域。虽然有些因素有利于该框架之推进，但其发展也面临着不确定性。如果各方完成谈判并最终达成协议，“印太经济框架”可能产生深刻的经济和战略影响。
In May 2022，the U.S.formally launched the Indo-Pacific Economic Framework （IPEF） in Tokyo with other 12 partners. Since then，the IPEF Partners have held two negotiating rounds and a special negotiating round. Through this Framework，the U.S.，by reshaping the rules of critical and emerging issues in world trade，aims to reinforce its leading role in world economy，strengthen its economic ties with the Indo-Pacific，and address current and future challenges in world trade and economy，create a level playing field for American workers and businesses，fundamentally safeguard and realize American interests in the Indo-Pacific and promote domestic jobs and economic growth. The IPEF has four pillars：Trade，Supply Chain，Clean Economy，and Fair Economy. Although several factors may contribute to the negotiations and consensus making among the IPEF partners，there do exist some uncertainties for the development of the Framework. If all partners can finish the negotiations and finally reach an agreement，the IPEF may have deep economic and strategic influences.
