China’s surrounding areas are of great geopolitical significance to China. Since the founding of new China，the Chinese government has attached great importance to the diplomatic work in its neighboring countries. Guided by mutual respect，peaceful coexistence，win-win cooperation and good-neighborliness and friendliness，China has actively deepened and expanded its relations with its neighbors，which has played a positive role in creating a new pattern of all-round diplomacy. Over the past 70 years，China’s neighborhood diplomatic practice has generally experienced three stages：the period of China’s socialist revolution and construction，the period of reform and opening up and socialist modernization，and the new era of socialism with Chinese characteristics. In this process，China’s neighborhood diplomacy not only presents phased characteristics，but also has internal unified logic，which has better promoted the realization of China’s overall diplomatic objectives and accumulated valuable historical experience.
