In the era of digital economy, with increasing demand for computing power, making full use of natural cold source and renewable energy has become the consensus and trend of green data center construction. The server of Underwater Data Center(UDC)is placed in the sealed compartment of the seafloor and cooled naturally by the flow of sea water, which has the advantages of saving electricity, water, land, low delay, high computing power, high safety, high reliability and rapid deployment. Moreover,UDC is easy to combine with offshore wind power, photovoltaic and other renewable energy to convert Marine energy into Marine computing power, promote the development of data centers to “low-carbon” and “zero-carbon”,and build a new computing center architecture of “channels computing resources from land to sea”,providing a beneficial supplement for “channels computing resources from the east to the west”. China was a late starter in the UDC industry, but is at the forefront of the implementation of the application, and has now launched the world’s first commercial UDC. UDC provides new solutions for the green and low-carbon development of data centers, which will promote business innovation in the digital economy and facilitate the cross-integration of the digital economy and the marine economy.
