In 2021,the Biden administration’s Central Asia policy basically continued the overall framework and key direction of the Trump administration’s new Central Asia strategy, but it also had some new characteristics. In the context of withdrawing troops from Afghanistan, the United States has increased its political and security contacts with Central Asian countries. Labor, climate change and environmental protection have become new policy priorities. The soft power offensive against youth groups has continued to increase, and the means have become more diversified. The withdrawal of US troops from Afghanistan does not mean that the United States will relax its attention to Central Asia, nor will it change the existing mode of intervention and influence in Central Asia. The main line of the US policy towards Central Asia is still to strengthen its long-term influence on the politics and society of Central Asia with limited investment,so as to serve as a lever to compete with China and Russia.
