The escalation of the Ukrainian crisis in 2022 has put Europe under the global spotlight. Many European countries call 2022 a “historic watershed”,and German Chancellor Olaf Scholz addressed the German Bundestag that the world was experiencing Zeitenwende. With the outbreak of the Russian-Ukrainian conflict,Europe’s security landscape, economic development, political ecology, and external relations have undergone dramatic adjustments. In 2023,due to the long-lasting impact of the Ukrainian crisis,European countries will struggle to cope with various challenges and endeavor to stabilize the political and economic situation at home. Meanwhile,pro-United States, aiding Ukraine, and anti-Russia will continue to be the mainstream of most European countries’ foreign policies. In the context of great changes in Europe and the world, the China-European Union relationship is facing challenges. However, their overall relationship will stabilize from falling, and economic and trade cooperation between the two sides is expected to continue to grow steadily.
