The Chinese modernization has defined the content，theme and substance of the Chinese stories，and has pointed out the direction for international communication throughout the country. To tell Chinese stories well，we should start from the structure of the scientific connotation of Chinese modernization，clarify the communication theme and discourse level，and find out the historical orientation of Chinese modernization in human civilization，so as to better integrate Chinese stories into the context of global development. Cities have comprehensive advantages in undertaking international communication tasks and become an important hub to tell good stories about China. As a national central city，Guangzhou should give full play to its strong hub capacity for global resource allocation and comprehensive carrying capacity for national strategies，and comprehensively strengthen the construction of international communication capacity from the perspective ofcity image，context，channels and audience. Guangzhou should highlight the innovation of urban governance to tell the story of a mega city with a huge population，Stress high-quality urban development to tell the story of common prosperity，underline the construction of a cultural Greater Bay Area to tell the story of coordinated and comprehensive development of material and spiritual civilization，emphasize the image of a world flower city to tell the story of ecological civilization underpinned by harmonious coexistence between human and nature，and promote the image of an international exchange center to tell the story of China’s peaceful development，so as to form all-round support for China’s international communication.
