近年，美国将中国视为“主要竞争对手”，不断调整对华战略，中美关系受到冲击。在经贸领域，美国方面挑起贸易战，寻求重塑供应链，纠集盟友和伙伴对中国进行“协同脱钩”。在科技领域，美国以“小院高墙”策略对中国进行技术封堵，阻碍中美科技领域的人文交流，并力图打造所谓“民主科技联盟”。北京在建设国际交往中心方面，需要紧抓经济和科技这两大重点领域，通过开展具有创新性的城市外交，为首都发展和我国总体外交做出贡献。
The United States categorizes China as the biggest competitor and Washington continues to adjust its policy toward China accordingly. The American side launches the trade war vis-à-vis China and seeks to push for collective decoupling against China and reorganize the global supply chains. Washington takes the approach of “small yard and high fence” to advance the technological competition with China. U.S.-China technological exchanges are disrupted. America strives to construct “democratic technology alliance”. With aim to become international exchange center，Beijing needs to attach more importance on the economic and technological affairs，and promotes creative city diplomacy. It would benefit the development of Beijing and China’s overall diplomacy.
