国际语言环境是衡量城市国际化程度的重要指标，体现一个城市使用世界各种语言文字进行信息交流的广度、深度和频度。2022年，北京全面实施国家首部关于语言环境的地方性法规——《北京市国际交往语言环境建设条例》，构建国际语言环境建设统筹工作机制，主动适应服务国家主场外交、推动数字化国际交往的需求，创设多模态语言景观，搭建外语服务网络平台和外语人才数据库，为国际交往中心功能建设提供全方位、高标准语言服务，营造高质量、国际化的语言环境。
