The political situation in Bosnia and Herzegovina plunged into a deep crisis in the latter half of 2021 after the High Representative issued an amendment to the country’s Criminal Law，criminalizing the act of genocide denial. As the world’s economy started to recover in 2021，Bosnia and Herzegovina registered a record high export and import to meet the surging demand for raw materials，fuels and energy，whose prices roared. However，the rapid rising of prices of certain consumer items affected people’s wellbeing. The relationship between Bosnia and Herzegovina and certain countries in this region underwent turmoil in 2021，and there was no substantial progress in its relations with NATO. China and Bosnia and Herzegovina saw fruitful results in their cooperation on specific projects，including the combat against the COVID-19 pandemic.
