As the COVID-19 epidemic continued to spread in 2021,the official development assistance provided by the international community to Sub-Saharan Africa actually decreased by 2.82% compared with that of 2020. Among them, the United States,Germany,France, the United Kingdom and Japan are the top five countries providing the most ODA to Africa. And the emerging donors and private foundations have played an increasingly important role in helping African countries fight against the epidemic. As Africa’s most important development partner,China also helped Africa to fight against the epidemic through large-scale of medical materials supplying and infrastructure building. However,it should be realized that the spread of the COVID-19 epidemic has made Africa face more severe development challenges and African security situation has become more complex with the serious competition between external powers. This requires the international community to promote the global development governance agenda with greater determination,to work together to promote post-pandemic recovery and economic development in Africa.
