In order to cope with challenges and improve competitiveness,countries around the world are focusing more on advancing science and technology education and innovation. In recent years,the African Union has issued and implemented many important strategies such as “Agenda 2063:the Africa We Want”,“Science,Technology and Innovation Strategy for Africa 2024,STISA-2024”,“Continental Education Strategy for Africa,2016-2025” and “Continental Strategy for Technical and Vocational Educational and Training”,putting forward clear missions and objectives of science,technology and education innovation,and has constantly taken relevant measures. The characteristics and trends of African Union’s strategies on science and technology education and innovation are as follows. Paying attention to the close combination of scientific and technological innovation and education and training,emphasizing the simultaneous development of financial investment and system reform,focusing on resource integration,and encouraging women and girls to participate in science,technology and education. These policies not only provided institutional support for the innovation and development of science and technology and education in Africa,but also offered new ideas and methods for China-Africa cooperation in science and education.
