The negative impact of COVID-19 has been prolonged，and the international political and economic environment has been violently turbulent. Scientific evaluation of industrial and supply chains security has become a pressing issue to national development and security. This study proposes a new evaluation index system and method for the safety of two typical industries，grain and integrated circuits，from the perspective of the industrial and supply chains. Based on empirical results，policy recommendations and suggestions are proposed. Using news media big data to construct a risk index to indicate the overall risk of China’s industrial and supply chains，the empirical results show that the index is highly consistent with the actual situation.
