工业革命与私有制的联姻，放大了资本的魔力。在私有制的架构中，资本借助于工业革命成功实现了“两个剥夺”——对劳动者的剥夺和对自然界的剥夺，将利润最大化逻辑演绎得淋漓尽致。在“两个剥夺”中，剥夺者和被剥夺者双双走向异化。不到300年的工业文明，生机勃勃的大自然被糟蹋得面目全非。于是，优化生态环境，成了全人类共同面对的课题。然而，人类走向生态文明的努力收效甚微。何以如此？在私有化社会的资本逻辑下，是否进行生态文明建设，一切皆以能不能带来最大化利润为终极标准。换言之：如果建设生态文明有利于实现利润最大化，就会选择生态文明；如果建设生态文明有碍于利润最大化，那么，资本家就会毫不犹豫地将生态文明踩在脚下。可见，私有制与生态文明不兼容，私有制的土壤里不可能开出生态文明之花，意图沿用私有制的资本逻辑去纠工业文明之过，等于抓着自己的头发脱离地球一样可笑。用产生问题的思维去解决问题，只能使问题越来越多。欲要建构生态文明，就必须从私有制的另一极——公有制中寻找答案。从某种意义上我们不得不说，公有化的制度设计是通往生态文明的必由之路。在所有制维度上，完全可以把生态文明建设理论概括为一句话：重建公有制。
The marriage of industrial revolution and private ownership magnifies the magic of capital. In the private ownership structure，capital is implemented by means of the industrial revolution “two rob”—to the deprivation of laborer and the deprivation of nature，to maximize profit logic deduced to get incisively and vividly. In “two deprivation”，both the dispossessed and the disenfranchised both move towards alienation. Less than 300 years of industrial civilization，vibrant nature has been ruined beyond recognition. Therefore，the optimization of ecological environment has become a common issue for all mankind. However，human efforts towards ecological civilization have had little effect. Why？Under the capital logic of the privatized society，whether to carry out the construction of ecological civilization，everything will be the ultimate standard for the maximization of profit. In other words，if the construction of ecological civilization is conducive to the maximization of profit，ecological civilization will be selected. If the construction of ecological civilization hinders the maximization of profits，then the capitalists will not hesitate to trample the ecological civilization under their feet. It can be seen that private ownership is incompatible with ecological civilization. To solve problems with the thought of producing problems can only make more and more problems. To construct ecological civilization，we must find the answer from the other pole of private ownership，public ownership. In a sense，we have to say that public ownership system design is the only way to ecological civilization. On the dimension of ownership，the theory of ecological civilization can be summed up as one sentence：reconstruction of public ownership.
