India is an importantuprising country in the Indo-Pacific region，whose comprehensive national power and international status have risen significantly after years of development. India-U.S. relations，especially the military cooperation has been making great progress since Modi administration took office. The strengthening of Indo-U.S. military cooperation is an inevitable result of the convergence of the national strategy and interests of the two countries. In the U.S. strategic review，China’s growing military and economic power has already threatened the U.S. strategic interests in the Indo-Pacific region. It is necessary to contain China through strengthen the cooperation with its allies，partners and other important countries in the region，such as India. Given that it is impossible for India to compete with China alone in the near future，India also needs external forces to balance the strategic pressure from China. However，there are still some different strategic interests and intentions in the Indian Ocean region between India and the U.S.. Thus，their military cooperation is faced with various problems and challenges.
