This paper aims to start a discussion about the goal of ending hunger by 2030 presented at UN Resolution A/Res/70/1. Food Security and sustainable food production systems are important for adaptation to climate change and combat biodiversity loss. Law and governance have a special role defi ning a legal and political system committed to reorganize the human relations in production, trade and consumption within planetary boundaries, keeping and restoring ecosystems, respecting local organic producers and traditional knowledge. Therefore local, transnational and international measures are required focusing on the sustainability of the global food system.
