China’s development journey was birthed with the state in 1949. Over the last 70 years, China’s interactions with different countries at all levels have been reported in newspapers abroad. Can such reports have an impact on China’s vision of building a mutually beneficial and shared future with countries like Uganda? What kind of perceptions of China, can be shaped locally by these reports? For purposes of this research paper, we will focus on the New Vision, and evaluate nuances of these interactions from two key months of two different years – January 2018 and January 2019.
